I wanted to show the mine-detecting rat that Mr. Easterby was incredibly fascinated by which is part of my borders project. I spent a couple of days away sleeping among scorpions and snakes–seriously–at the APOPO camp in Mpilane, Gaza province about three hours outside of Maputo. It was fascinating. I also had some time with a mine victim in his village, Donga.
