Voting

It was a bit of an uncomfortable position because I'm used to covering these types of things (think 2000 U.S. Presidential Election, that's Bush v. Gore, in Florida) than observing. We had to get permission to photograph but as an observer, I only photographed before voting actually began and throughout my days I shot away from the voting sites. The rest of my time there, I explored with my camera doing some street shooting and seeing if I could find some kind of interesting insight or story which I did.

Observing Elections: Don't Forget to Archive

I'll be an elections observer for in the Zambezi region in Quelimane for the municipal elections there that will be happening throughout the country. It's more than a bit strange doing this type of work since I'm used to being someone who would be photographing those elections or observers. I'll still be photographing them but for different reasons. However, I'm planning on making as much a photo safari out of it as possible while avoiding attack by their famous mosquitoes and bats. I'll miss class this Wednesday, so I'm depending on the archive. Say, what ever happened to the archives of last term's classes?
